After several days of stand-off, the government blinked first on Friday night and gave permission for the proposed Telangana Sunday march. However, it has not stopped arresting Telangana activists.
Telangana leaders accused the government of carrying on preventive arrests saying that the government is creating hurdles in the path of the organizers of the Telangana march even after giving permission for it.

The security concerns of the police have been heightened by the participation of Congress ministers and MPs, with whom a large section of the local populace is unhappy for their lukewarm efforts in striving for a separate Telangana.
Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) convenor M. Kodandaram alleged that police are not stopping arrests of their activists coming from different parts of the region.
Kodandaram along with other leaders demanded that government should stop the arrests immediately and also appealed to the police and government to cooperate with the TJAC in the conduct of a peaceful march. He told the media after a meeting with the Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma along with JAC leader Srinivas Goud, Telangana Jagruthi president Kavita, that they are hopeful of a large turn-out for the march.
The TJAC convenor also said that they will announce the future course of action at the march.
Meanwhile, the BJP leaders are all set to pay tributes at the Telangana martyrs memorial first and proceed towards Necklace road to participate in the march.
