Minister Kondru defends hike in power charges

Defending the ERC proposal to hike power charges, Minister Kondru Murali on Monday said it was not fair for some Congress leaders like Union Minister K Chiranjeevi and Minister C Ramachandraiah to find fault with the hike in the power tariff.

He said it was only a proposal by the Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC) and recalled that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had announced long back that it would be reviewed. So, it was unjust for Congress leaders to make comments, the minister said and criticised the opposition parties for misguiding the people on the power charges. Expressing his displeasure over the Left parties joining the hands with communal party BJP, Murali said it seemed they shed communism.
