Minister Dharmana assumes charge

Minister for Roads & Buildings Dharmana Prasada Rao, who was away from his regular duties for the past six months after he was charge-sheeted as fifth accused in the Vanpick land issue, on Thursday appeared in his chamber in D Block in the Secretariat and attended to duties.

A week ago, for the first time after a gap of six months, he attended the meeting of National Academy of Constructions (NAC) held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. He left immediately after the meeting even without meeting waiting media persons.

It may be recalled that he tendered his resignation on August 14, 2012 when he was named in the charge-sheet. The Cabinet meeting passed a resolution dismissing his resignation and the same was forwarded to the Governor, who in turn returned it to the Govt. His resignation was pending since then and he kept himself aloof from the official programmes.
