Masked Men Kill BJP’s Muslim Worker With Swords, Murder Caught On CCTV Camera

Mangaluru: In a gruesome incident, unidentified assailants attacked two BJP Minority Morcha activists with swords at Ullal town in Mangaluru. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday midnight, was caught on CCTV camera installed in the street.

One of the victims - Zubair (39) - died in the attack while Illyas, who sustained critical injuries, is recuperating in a hospital. According to the police, two masked men came on a bike and waited outside Mukkacheri mosque for Zubair. The moment Zubair came out of the mosque after offering prayer, they attacked him. Ilyas, who came to his rescue, was also stabbed by the assailants. Zubair died while being shifted to hospital. Illyas sustained injuries on hands and feet.

Meanwhile, the BJP top brass in the state condemned the attack and demanded that the state government arrest the culprits and punish them.

BJP Minority leader Rahim Uchil alleged that the attack was carried out at the behest of the local MLA. Zubair and Illyas have been working for the BJP for the past 10 years, the BJP leader said. Meanwhile, the police officials ruled out political rivalry behind the attack, The victim had a personal enmity with a notorious criminal in the town, they said.
