Guntur: A Sub-Inspector of police in Guntur district was booked for cheating on his wife and marrying another married woman who came to police station seeking a solution for a squabble with her husband. The SI was booked under the charges of cheating and bigamy.

Krishnaiah Durgi worked as SI in Guntur in 2010. Seeking solution to a fight with her husband, one Turlipati Subhashini (28) approached Krishnaiah’s police station to file a complaint. Instead of trying to re-conciliate the woman with her husband, Krishnaiah further messed up their relation and managed to get the woman divorced from her husband.

Later, as per his plot, Krishnaiah married Subhashini in a hush-hush manner without the knowledge of his first wife Soubhagya whom he married in 2007. After she came to know about Krishnaiah’s second marriage, Soubhagya confronted Krishnaiah and asked him to leave Subhashini.

With the pressure from his first wife, Krishnaiah started harassing second wife to get rid of her. Unable to bear the torture from the SI, Subhashini lodged a complaint at police Arandal Police Station in Guntur. Meanwhile, by this complaint, Krishnaiah’s first wife attempted to commit suicide by consuming pesticide on Satuday.
