Mandali Buddhaprasad assumes charge as deputy speaker

Eminent Gandhian, Telugu lover, veteran legislator and former minister Mandali Buddhaprasad was unanimously elected the deputy speaker of the AP legislative Assembly. Both the TDP and the YSRCP backed this non-controversial politician.

With this the TDP has coveted both the posts of Speaker and the deputy speaker. Earlier, Kodela Sivaprasad has also been unanimously elected speaker of the assembly.

After he was declared elected he was taken to the speaker’s podium and leaders of all political parties greeted him on his election. Chandrababu said Mandali Buddhaprasad was vastly experienced and is well-known Gandhian. Leader of the Oppostion, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed the hope that Mandali would strive to protect the rights of the legislators and would enhance the prestige of the house.
