Man Thrashes Pregnant Woman, Demands Her To Live With Him

Guntur: A six-month pregnant woman was mercilessly beaten in the stomach and on the back bone by her former friend in RTC Colony in Guntur East.

The incident took place on February 25 when the woman, Rani, was at her residence and the attacker Sunil dragged her out of the house and beat her up. According to the neighbours, Rani was an orphan who made a living by working in various shops in the vicinity of Budampadu SC Colony. In August 2017, she married M Srinivas of Old Guntur town. The couple took a premises on rent in RTC Colony. On February 25, 2018, Sunil barged into her house, dragged her out and demanded that she leave her husband and live with him. As Srinivas rushed home, he was also threatened by Sunil. Following her screams, neighbours intervened and rescued the woman. However, late that night Sunil returned along with another friend Rama Rao. They both beat up the couple, took away her gold ornament and threatened her to leave Srinivas. Once again, it was the neighbours who rescued the couple and called the police. However, Sunil and Rama Rao managed to escape before the police could arrive.

On Thursday, the couple mustered the courage to approach the police and sought protection from Sunil. They claimed that they have a threat to their lives as Sunil has a criminal background.
