Man Sets Himself Ablaze Over Defiance Of Wife
Anantapur: A man committed suicide by setting himself ablaze on late Tuesday after his wife defied him when he asked her not to give a quawwali performance.
According to reports, Sheikh Bashir a resident of Gooty worked in a cupboard making workshop. His wife Sadika Sanjari is a qawwali singer. Sheikh who addicted to alcohol often used to quarrel with his wife. Fed up with her husband Sadika left him and started to live alone. She used make money by singing qawwali.
On Tuesday, a program was arranged under the supervision of a committee in R&B bungalow on the eve of Ugadi. Sadika got an opportunity to sing qawwali on the stage. But her husband Sheik ordered her not to participate in the program. Disobeying his words Sadika went on stage saying that it is her job to sing qawwali, for which she gets money.
When Sadika went to sing, Sheikh set himself in blaze. People over there doused the fire by covering him with carpets. He was rushed to hospital immediately and his conditions is stated to be critical. Surprisingly, Sadika lodged a complaint against Sheikh on Tuesday morning stating that she has a threat from her husband.
