Hyderabad: In yet another triple talaq over Whatsapp, a Hyderabad woman received talaq from her husband through a WhatsApp message on her birthday for refusing to have physical relation with her father-in-law. Although the talaq was sent to her last year in November, it has surfaced now. The victim, Sumaina Sharfi, got married to Owais Talib of Begumpet in 2015.

She said that her husband went to Dubai and she stayed at her in-laws house. The woman said she was subjected to torture and made to work like a servant by Amma Jaan, her husband's guardian who also practices black magic.

Amma Jaan asked her to develop physical relation with her own second husband Adil Ali Khan and be a surrogate mother. As Sumaina disagreed she was locked up in a room for six days. After coming to know about the harassment, victim’s father came and took her daughter away.

“I informed my husband about this, but he asked me to do as Amma Jaan says. I refused again and they started torturing me,” said the woman.

The victim filed a complaint against Amma Jaan, her husband and other relatives in March at Sanathnagar police station. The case is now being investigated by Hyderabad CCS.
