Man Dupes Girl By Promise Of Marriage

Hyderabad: A realtor was arrested for duping a woman to the tune Rs96,900 by promising to marry her and trying to extract more money.

According to the police, the accused Phani Kumar Ramisetty, a resident of Nagole completed his MBA and is working as a realtor. He uploaded his profile on the matrimonial site and contacted the victim with a marriage proposal. The girl from Kukatpally, who also showed interest in him, frequently contacted Phani. After a few days, Phani Kumar started asking the girl for money. Trusting him, the girl gave a total of Rs96,900 in different phases.

But when she stopped giving him money, he threatened her and her father, asking them to pay Rs10 lakh else he would post her photos on social media in obscene way.

The victim filed a case against the man based on which the police traced him using call data records and bank account details and arrested him.
