Man Attacks Son Mistaking Him For Wife’s Paramour

Kurnool: A 14-year-old teenager has escaped from the jaws of death after he was attacked by his father mistaking him for wife's paramour. The boy is battling for life in a private hospital in Kurnool town. The incident took place in Guthpally village of Bethamcherla mandal in the district on Friday.

According to the police, Somanna and Ramalakshmi of the village are agriculture labourers. The couple have two sons and two daughters. Somanna had been suspecting his wife Ramalakshmi of having an extra-marital affair with another person in the same village. Both of them frequently quarrel over this matter.

On Friday night, Somanna returned home drunk and saw his wife along with his 14-year-old son Parasuram on the bed. However, he mistook his son for an outside person and attacked him with an axe.

Realising that the boy was his son, Somanna along with neighbours rushed Parasuram to a government hospital. As his condition was said to be critical, upon doctor's suggestion, the family shifted Parasuram to private hospital in Kurnool. He is being treated for grievous injuries, but the boy is said to be out of danger.
