Five of Hyderabad Family Drown In Koppal Lake
Hyderabad: Three teenagers and a 32-year-old man belonging to a family from the city drowned in a lake at Hemagudda in Koppal district of Karnataka on Monday.
The victims were visiting their relative, ex-councillor C. Mohan Rao of Hemagudda on the occasion of Gauri Pournami as they did every year. They were the children of Mohan Rao's brother and sister. The family followed a tradition of performing pujas at Durgamma temple in Hemagudda every year on Gauri Pournami in Kartheeka Masam.
As the elders were busy with cooking, the children went to the lake in the morning. When they did not return till afternoon, the family members went to the lake only to find the dead bodies of the children floating in the lake. The deceased were identified as Pravallika(16), Pavitra(15), Pavani(14), Ashish(15) and Raghavendra(32).
The bodies were shifted to Hyderabad after conducting post-mortem.
