Telangana Govt Will Revive Mamnoor Airport Near Warangal With State Funds: KCR

Warangal: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday assured that the Mamunoor airport near Warangal town will be revived soon for the convenience of industrialists visiting the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park to participate in its development from various parts of the country.

Speaking after laying foundation for the works on KMTP, KCR said the state government will develop the airport with its own funds if the Union Aviation Ministry has any constraints to do so. He also laid foundation for a new road over bridge between Kazipet and Fatimanagar and a ring road encompassing Warangal town.

Recalling the role played by Warangal in Telangana movement, CM assured the region a major portion in development in coming years.

Local Body Elections Will Be Held On Time

Announcing that over 4,000 hamlets and Thandas would be upgraded as Gram Panchayats in addition to the 8,684 existing villages, KCR said his government would not shy away from conducting elections to the local bodies. A bill will be introduced in the coming session of the Assembly upgrading the hamlets to Gram Panchayats, he said and added that elections would be conducted immediately after the legislation is enacted.
