YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday met President Pranab Mukherjee and appealed to him to take steps to initiate action against AP CM Chandrababu Naidu in the Cash for Vote scam.

A delegation of YSRCP led by YS Jagan took to the notice of the President that the TDP has offered Rs 5 crore for each vote in the recent MLC election and that the senior leader of the TDP was caught on video tape offering money.

“Chandrababu is trying to divert the attention from Cash for Vote scam by invoking Andhra VS Telangana passions. His MLA was caught bribing the MLA and Chief Minister himself spoke over telephone assuring the TRS MLA of taking care of him. Yet, he was not included as the A1 in the case. Moreover, he is trying to divert the topic by trying to drive a wedge between the two states,” YS Jagan told the mediapersons after meeting the President. “There cannot be two different sets of laws for the CM and the commoner,” averred YS Jagan. He accused Chandrababu of turning Andhra Pradesh into a scam-ridden state. “There are at least 10 such major scams during the past one year. He has used the kick-backs from these scams to buy MLAs during the recent MLC elections in Telangana,” said YS Jagan. “At least 100 crore were involved in the botched up attempt to buy votes. Where did the money come from,” Jagan asked.

In another memorandum submitted to the President, YS Jagan demanded that AP be granted special state status as was promised during the bifurcation of the state.

MPs YS Subba Reddy, Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, Mithun Reddy and others accompanied YS Jagan.
