Natural star Nani is basking in the success of his past three box-office hits. To know if Nani’s success spree continues with Majnu, we have to get into the details to find out…

Story:

Aditya (Nani) an engineering graduate falls for Kiran (Anu Emmanuel) in his hometown Bheemvaram in Andhra Pradesh. Like a routine plot, the actor is seen wooing his love and running round the trees. As usual, the hero heroine unite only after facing all impediments and this story is no exception. As Nani faces irksome situations, he falls apart from Kiran and moves to Hyderabad, where he works as an assistant director to Rajamouli for ‘Baahubali 2’. Well, audience has more surprise as there area cameos by Trivikram and Raj Tarun.

As time passes by,Nani, in a new locale is smitten by Suma (Priya Shri) and pours out his love. However, he doesn’t want to hide his past so he retraces to his new love.

The veil of suspense is lifted when Nani realizes that Kiran and Suma are cousins. How Nani handles this situation after he encounters the two ladies. Finally, which of the two girls get Nani?

A still from the film

Analysis:

Such stories are a home turf for Nani and the actor offers a gamut of emotions. Nani truly fits the bill and it is his comic timing which makes the routine storyline a watchable fare.

The situational comedy throughout the film is very interesting. Nani’s melancholic scenes with Illayaraja’s classics in the background are rib-ticklers. The actor tickles your funny bones when he says “ Ekkuva maatladithe editing-lo theesestha”.

The two leading actresses fall short compared with Nani’s acting acumen. Anu Emmanuel at many places has blank expression, while her counterpart Priya Shri does slightly better. Gopi Sunder’s music is soothing and cinematographer Gnanasekhar’s work is immaculate which actually adds as a major asset for the film.

Film lacks novelty as the director has chosen a clichéd plot. The first half is engaging and naturally Nani is the one who carries the movie on his shoulder. Second half is quite dragging, as everything is predictable.

Verdict:

Same old story in an old bottle but can watch it for Nani.
