Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad TDP president and Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath expressed shock over TDLP president Errabelli Dhayakar Rao’s joining TRS party on Wednesday evening.
Maganti said that Errabelli is a good friend of him and they fought together for the party's development. But he surprised me with his defection to TRS. He denied the reports of his joining TRS party too and stated that he was not consulted by any TRS leaders so far and will remain in TDP only.
About the speculation over his arrest in connection with Cash for Vote scam, Maganti refuted that he has not had any connection with the scam and said he has not been served any notices by ACB.
Reports said that Gopinath would be served a notice and then the arrest could be made on Friday or Saturday in connection with the Cash for Vote scam that the cash which the TDP MLA Revanth Reddy tried to give as a bribe to Anglo Indian MLA Stephenson to make him vote for the TDP in the MLC elections reportedly came from Maganti Gopinath.
Gopinath's link has come to light during the ACB probe into the scam. Already, Revanth Reddy has been arrested in the case and is currently out on conditional bail.
