Participating in the municipal polls for the first time, YSRCP not only fared well but also gave tough competition to TDP.

In Hindupur ward numbers 6 and 38, saw both YSRCP and TDP securing equal majority. The winners were decided through lottery and YSRCP won here as well.(Live Results)

YSRPC is also leading in Gutti, while TDP said to be ahead in Puttaparthi, Kalyanadurgam and Papaidi corporations.

Big setback for Ponnam Prabhakar in Municipal elections

Ponnam Prabhakar, Congress candidate from Karimnagar parliamentary constituency, got a big setback in the municipal elections.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won all the municipalities and Karimnagar municipal corporation that are under his parliamentary constituency.

Congress leaders are saying that Ponnam had acted in a partisan manner in the selection of candidates and that led to the defeat of party candidates here.

It may be recalled that Congress party suffered defeat in the constituency eventhough it performed better in other districts in Telangana.

YSRCP wins Pulivendula municipality

YSRCP won Pulivendula municipality in YSR Kadapa district by bagging 25 wards. An independent candidate got one ward.

The party also won Erraguntla municipality. YSRCP got 18 wards and TDP got two wards in the municipality.

At Rayachoti, YSRCP got 18 wards and TDP got 12 wards. The remaining ward was bagged by an independent. At Prodduturu, YSRCP got 18 wards and TDP got 22 wards.

TDP bagged Jammalamadugu municipality. Here, YSRCP got 9 wards and TDP got 11 wards.

At Mydukuru, TDP got 17 wards and YSRCP got 5 wards. And an independent won the remaining ward.
