Lok Sabha adjourned, to meet on Monday

The Lok Sabha was adjourned for the day Thursday following unending protests over Telangana. It will now meet Monday.

Parliament will be closed Friday due to Guru Ravidas Jayanti.

There was fresh uproar in the House when it reassembled at 3 PM as members from Seemandhra who were suspended from the House continued to remain inside raising slogans in favour of a united Andhra Pradesh.

They gathered in the Well even before the House was called to order and even blocked the passage for Secretary-General S Bal Shekar to take his seat.

Amid pandemonium, Congress MPs and ministers from Seemandhra region including K S Rao, M M Pallam Raju, Chiranjeevi and D Purandeswari were seen raising placards that read Save Andhra Pradesh. Congress MPs from Telangana region raised counter slogans.

Other Congress MPs including Lal Singh, Aaroon Rashid, Sanjay Nirupam and NSV Chitthan were seen in the Well trying to prevent any untoward incident.

Sensing the mood of the members, Satpal Maharaj, who was in the Chair, adjourned the House till Monday.

Even after the House was adjourned for the day, members from Telangana and suspended MPs from Seemandhra region were seen arguing with each other in front of Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj and BJP veteran L K Advani.
