Loads Of Liquor Bottles, Crores Worth Properties Found At Treasury Officer’s House

Vijayawada: Huge stocks of expensive foreign liquor bottles, gold and documents related to properties worth nearly Rs50 crore were found at the house of Gannavaram sub-treasury officer Ganesh Babu when ACB conducted raids on Friday.

Ganesh Babu is known for his rampant corruption. Whatever amount of cash he demanded from the favor-seekers, a bottle or two of foreign liquor only would give him real kick and the bill would be cleared at an extra speed. This is in fact the style of some Delhi babus who move the files only after a bottle or two of fine liquor is given to them at their convenient place.

ACB slueths simultaneously swooped on Ganesh Babu's house in Eluru and his office in Gannavaram and found all the treasure trove at his house. However, his close relatives living in and around Vijayawada are said to be on the run after learning about the raids as Ganesh is believed to have kept his bounty at their houses.

Sub-treasury is the clearing authority of government bills to contractors and this incident shows the quantum of corruption prevalent in AP government.

The raids were continuing at the time of publishing this news story and more of his bounty may be unearthed when his bank lockers are opened in the process.
