Polling ended for the second phase of rural local body elections in Andhra Pradesh on Friday amid tight security and sporadic incidents of violence.

State Election Commissioner P. Ramakanth Reddy said the polling was on amid tight security at sensitive places. He reviewed the polling process.   (Recap: First phase AP's ZPTC, MPTC elections)

Batlamaguturu voters boycott polling 

The voters at Batlamaguturu of  Penumantra in West Godavari district on Friday boycotted polling for the second phase of Municipal elections. 

They demanding that the leaders should first solve at least some of their problems in the village and provide minimum facilities. Protesting against the apathy of leaders, the villagers boycotted the elections.  Kishtampalli of Jadcherla mandal in Mahabunagar witnessed the same type of protest.  

TDP workers influence voters, attack SI at polling centre 

Chittoor: TDP activists attacked on duty SI at Kaveri Rajapuram in Chittoor district for obstructing  them from casting illegal votes. 

The TDP men pushed the SI and tried to attack him when he obstructed them from influencing voters with money at the polling centre.

In the melee, the SI's star badge fell. Police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the TDP men and took them into custody.  

After one hour, the polling continued peacefully.

Police arrested TDP leader Veera Siva Reddy and others in YSR Kadapa during the on going MPTC/ZPTC elections in the region.

Politicians flout rules, openly influence voters in Musurumili

With only one constable being deployed at Musurumilli poling centre in West Godavari, political leaders are creating mayhem. 

Leaders are opening influencing voters,as there is no one to monitor their behaviour. 
On the other hand, police took into custody, TDP leader Nanaji for campaigning at Kajuluru poling centre.

EC orders re-polling at Bandamidi after ballot papers gets mixed up 

The Election Commission ordered for re-polling at Bandamidi village under Singanamala mandal of Ananthapur district.

 As per reports,  Atmakuru ballet papers came to  Singanamala ZPTC. The EC odered polling to stop at Kalakumidi after mistakes were found in ballot papers.

The polling was also stopped at East Naidupalem of Tanguturu after voters raised objections for allotting Congress party symbol to independent candidate.

TDP activists attack other party members in Kurnool

Situation turned tense at Halaharvi in Kurnool district when YSR Congress Party and TDP activists came to blows with each other. 

Both the activists pelted stones at each other. Police are trying hard to bring the situation under their control. 

Police seized four buses in which voters were travelling from Alaginji of Chirupalli, and shifted them to to police stations. It is learnt that the buses belonged to TDP leaders.

A police officer attacked one activist of YSRCP at Kamalapadu village in Yadi mandal in Anantapur district on Friday. Reportedly the officer was working for TDP, and when questioned by a YSRCP member, the latter was attacked.  

Baring a few untoward incidents, polling for MPTC and ZPTC seats in the state ended peacefully. Voters, who were waiting in long queues, could cast their votes till 8 pm.
