Law Student Joins Hands With Friends To Rob RS 1 Crore From ATM

Although the incident occurred a week ago, the Delhi police arrested one Hemanth Yadav on Saturday for running away with cash from the ATM near DLF Phase-II area. 

New Delhi: A law student from Maharshi Dayanand University was arrested for his involvement in Rs 1 crore theft from an ATM in the national capital.

According to the police, Hemanth works with a security company that is engaged in transporting cash from banks to ATMs in the city.

Law student Shekhar had met Hemanth and Rahul in a marriage function in Rohtak, Haryana, some days back. He then joined hands with the duo for the theft. On November 24, as per the plan, Hemanth ran away with Rs 1 crore in DLF Phase-II area in the pretext of filling cash in the ATM. The police said that Shekhar was was the mastermind behind the crime.

The investigation team took the law student on three days police remand to recover Rs 50 lakh from his possession.

An FIR has been registered against the trio under relevant Sections of the Indian Panel Code (IPC) at the DLF Phase-II police station.
