Laloo-Nitish hug fails to enthuse Biharis

They came together, they hugged each other, but the Biharis appeared completely unenthused. The much-touted Laloo Prasad Yadav - Nitish Kumar reunion after 23 years of estrangement turned out to be a flop show of the first order.

The people turn out was just a few hundreds on Tuesday. And this turnout in Laloo's home turn, barely 35 km from Patna definitely proved disastrous to say the say the least.

This also showed that all is not well between the two beleaguered parties at the ground level. "For us this is just another election meeting," said a Subhai villager.
For both the leaders, this is a last ditch battle.

Laloo is out of power for over 15 years and another defeat could spell doom for his political career. As for Nitish, it certainly appears end-of-the-road for him.

Both the leaders were at their vituperative best when it came to lambasting their common enemy - the BJP. However, the lack of enthusiasm among the people must certainly have rankled both the old war horses.
