Lakshmi Mittal enlivens in nostalgia of a small town in AP

When it was known that the 'steel man' Lakshmi Mittal was commended by US President Barack Obama on Thursday, during latter’s visit to ArcelorMittal Cleveland Steel Factory in Cleveland, Ohio, a remote town in Andhra Pradesh has taken its share in the cake of pride. How come?!

'Because Narsaraopet had once become a host for his sojourn, it has every right to share the pride,' one, Vavilala Ramalingam
said.
‘It was another example that every great achievement has a small beginning, the scholar and the Congress leader in 1960's, Ramalingam went down to his memory lane, while speaking to Sakshipost.
According to him, big activity was going on during Nagarjuna Sagar project, lacks of tonnes of steel was in use. So was the scrap was generated. Mittal was a scrap dealer, before he was ushered to Britain by late Swaraj Pal of Caparo industries. He was encouraged and recommended by the then MP of Narsaraopet, late, Maddi Sudarshanam. He straightaway came down to their town for the purchase of the scrap.
'I was fortunate enough to host him for his sojourn of 2 days,' Ramalingam recalled, while bridging Narsaraopet and Netherlands, where Mittal Steel- Rotterdam exists.

“We, the old group, who had spent some exciting time with him at my house, are happy about Obama’s commendation to him and trying to send our wishes to the steel baron,” he added.
