KTR Lays Foundation For IT Tower In Karimnagar; Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar Next In Line

Karimnagar: In an effort to Information Technology industry to tier 2 towns in Telangana, IT Minister KT Rama Rao on Monday laid foundation stone for the construction of an IT tower in Karimnagar.

The government is constructing the tower with 62,000sft plinth area at a cost of Rs 25 crore to encourage IT companies to set up their operations in tier 2 cities, KTR said speaking on the occasion. If the tower is completely occupied, the government will sanction another tower here, he said. Similar complexes will be constructed in Nizamabad and Mahbubnagar later this year, the Minister said.

The tower will house various IT majors and MNCs creating employment for over 1,000 professionals. With a view to decentralize the development and employment opportunities, the Telangana government has already started construction of similar office complexes in Warangal and Khammam last year.
