Komatireddi, Sampath Get Relief Through HC

Hyderabad: In a major relief to Congress party MLAs in Telangana, Komtaireddi Venkat Reddy and Sampath Kumar, High Court has ordered Election Commission to not issue electoral notification for next six weeks. The two Congress MLAs were expelled from state Legislative Assembly by Telangana government, thus leaving the their seats vacant.

A case challenging the expulsion of the MLAs from state Legislature was taken up by the High Court this morning and the court has asked the Telangana government to file a counter for the petition filed by the MLAs. The Court has also ordered the government to submit the complete video footage of the day, when Komatireddi alleged threw head phone on Chairman Swamy Goud, in sealed cover. The next hearing of the case is posted for March 22 and the High Court has ordered the government not to initiate any action on this issue until it gives a decision.

It has been reported that the Congress MLAs Komatireddi Venkat Reddy and Sampath Kumar were expelled by the Telangana government from the assembly when they were allegedly found guilty of attacking Legislative Assembly chairman Swamy Goud. This apart 11 Congress MLAs including the Leader of Opposition in assembly Jana Reddy were suspended. The decision of the government was challenged in the High Court by the Congress party.
