Kiran's resignation yet to be accepted by Gov

Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy's resignation, that the former Congress party member submitted on Wednesday, is yet to be accepted by governor E.S.L.Narasimhan.

In his letter, he said that he was resigning from the post as he was hurt by the division of state.

Kiran was accompanied by eight ministers, 14 MLAs and five MLCs.

According to reports, the Governor has asked Kiran to act as the caretaker chief minister till alternate arrangements are made. It is reported that Kiran expressed his inability to do so.

Kiran also vacated his official residence and shifted all his luggage to his own bungalow in the city.

In his resignation letter, Kiran said, “The way the state is being bifurcated is unconstitutional. The Lok Sabha has approved the bill which was rejected by the state assembly. The state is being bifurcated without a consensus among the people of Andhra Pradesh. Suspension of MPs has pained me much. In these situations, I can’t continue in the post. I am requesting you to immediately accept my resignation. I am thanking you for your right cooperation while discharging my duties as the chief minister.”

Kiran also resigned for the party and his membership to the state assembly.
Kiran occupied the post on 25 November 2010. He continued in the post for a period of over three years.
