Kiran Reddy gives Big B NTR National award

Big B Amitabh Bachchan was given away the NTR National award in recognition of his services in the field of film industry.

Amitabh was felicitated by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at a function held at Lalitha Kala Thoranam on the eve of Telugu New year Ugadi on Thursday. The Chief Minister presented the award and a citation to Amitabh Bachchan. He was given standing ovation at the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Amitabh bachchan thanked the AP government for choosing him for the prestigious NTR award. He said he felt honoured with the award in the name of great N T Rama Rao, great son of the soil. He said cinema was a great integration for the nation. BN Reddy Award was presented to noted film director Shyam Benagal on his absence, while Raghupati Venkaiah Award was presented to noted character actor Kaikala Satyanarayana.
