Hyderabad: A Khammam man working as a CISF constable in Jammu's Kishtwar district on Thursday shot his wife and a couple to dead. Constable Ingalpu Surender hails from Sangem village in Palwancha mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district and his wife Lavanya was a native of Chittapur in Krishna district.

Surendar joined the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in 2014 and was posted to guard the Dul Hasti hydro-power project in Kishtwar district of Jammu.

Surender left for duty on Wednesday night and he came back home to find his colleague Kekane Rajesh Kiran at his house. Surender suspected an illicit relationship between his wife Lavanya and Kiran, a native of Nashik in Maharashtra. Enraged over Kiran's presence in his house while he was on duty all night, Surender instantly shot him dead after which he killed Lavanya too.

Hearing the noise of commotion and bullet shots, Rajesh's wife Shoba rushed out crying for help. In a fit of rage, Surender also shot down Shoba.

Constable Surender was taken into custody and an investigation is on. Arrangements were being made to send bodies of Lavanya and other victims to their native places in AP and Maharashtra respectively after the post-mortem process.

"Preliminary investigation reveals that the cause of death is extra-martial issue. Further investigation is on. We have arrested the accused and recovered the empty cases of his service weapon from the spot," said Abrar Chaudhary, senior superintendent of police, Kishtwar.

Police said constable Surendar was posted at the drop gate of the Dul Hasti Hydro Electric Power Project when he sought permission from his in-charge to go to the toilet. Instead of going to the toilet he headed towards the residential quarters at the Shalimar Colony and killed the three.

"We received information that constable Surendar had killed his wife, colleague and his wife. Immediately, a team headed by Station House Officer rushed to the spot," said Chaudhary.

"Further investigation in the case is under progress," said the official.
