Hyderabad: The Congress party on Friday strongly criticised Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for going to New Delhi while the state capital is reeling under floods.

Addressing the media, the party’s senior leader Shabbir Ali said that the chief minister is more interested in increasing his party’s Assembly seats rather than focusing on the problems of rain-affected people of Hyderabad. Providing Assembly seats to the MLAs that the TRS party has ‘bought’ from other parties seems to be the priority of K Chandrasekhar Rao, he said. “Residents of Bandari Layout in Nizampet have gone without power for four days. There is a severe shortage of essential supplies and not a single government representative visited the area,” he added.

The senior Congress leader also criticised municipal administration minister KT Rama Rao for blaming the Congress government for the flood situation in the city. “KTR is blaming the Congress government to hide his party’s failure to help the people in times of crisis, Shabbir Ali said.
