KCR To Present Rs 3.5-Cr Golden Crown to Warangal Bhadrakali Ammavaru

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhara Rao on behalf of the State will present a Rs 3.5 crore worth golden crown to Goddess Bhadrakali in Warangal on Sunday, October 9. GRT jewellers prepared the golden crown, which weighs 11 kgs and 700 grams.

The makers of the golden crown, the State government advisor (Cultural) KV Ramanachary, Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy and others showed the golden crown to KCR at the CM’s camp office on Friday after the Cabinet meeting. KCR told them that he would present the crown on October 9.

KCR along with his wife Shobha Rao will visit Bhadrakali temple in Warangal on October 9, during the ongoing nine-day Dasara festival. The State government on Friday confirmed the Chief Minister's schedule in a release. “The CM will visit Bhadrakali temple along with his wife, present the crown to goddess and fulfil his vow,” the official release said.

During the days of movement for Telangana statehood, KCR vowed to present gold ornaments to various gods and goddess in the state, if separate Telangana state was carved out.

Subsequently, after Telangana became a reality, KCR-led State Cabinet has approved the proposal to present gold ornaments to gods and goddess of various temples in Telangana and AP as part of fulfilling his vows.

KCR has vowed to present necklace to Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy in Tirumala, nose stud to Goddess Sri Kanaka Durga in Vijayawada, crown to Goddess Bhadrakali in Warangal and moustaches to Lord Kurivi Veerabhadra swamy.
