Warangal: Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekhar Rao thanked the voters who participated in the Warangal parliament constituency by-polls on Saturday. Voters from rural and town areas had taken part and cast their votes in a good numbers,said KCR here in Warangal.
On Saturday morning, the voters lines were slow but picked up pace by noon. The voting was carried out in a peaceful atmosphere and the voter turnout was reported to be around 67 percent. Even after 5 PM long queues of voters were seen in at many polling booths.
The voter turn out for the just concluded Warangal by-poll has recorded a slight decline when comparing to 2014 assembly elections which saw 75.47 percent polling. A total of 15.37 lakh voters had cast their votes in 2014 which is more than the 15.09 lakh that voted this time. Parakala constituency had reported the largest turn out with 67 percent.
The counting for the Warangal bypolls will be carried out on 24th of this month at Enumamula market yard.
