KCR’s movements disturbing leaders

What is Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhara Rao, popularly known as KCR, upto? This is the question uppermost on the minds of every pro-Telangana activist.

KCR, who till now was silent despite heavy criticism from different quarters, has suddenly become active and is meeting leader after leader. In the past couple of days, the TRS chief met Parigi MLA and senior TDP leader Hareeswara Reddy and former PCC chief and former Rajya Sabha member K Keshav Rao, both strong forces in their respective parties.

KCR driving straight to Hareeswara Reddy’s house yesterday, caused a flutter in the TDP and the ruling Congress circles alike, while his closed-door meeting at Keshav Rao’s house today too raised eye-brows in the Telangana political arena. The question being asked by everyone is, what is KCR upto.

Some leaders are of the firm belief that KCR is now mobilizing support to the cause of Telangana, while others are of the opinion that the TRS president is only keen on asking these leaders to boycott the AP Formation day celebrations. But certainly his meeting with both the leaders has created sensation among leaders of all political parties, including some TRS circles, the leaders agree.

The recent Cabinet expansion has sent enough signals that Telangana is still thus far, and that is why KCR has now upped the ante to mount pressure on the Centre, analysts in Hyderabad feel. By accommodating several MPs in the Union Cabinet in the latest reshuffle, the Congress High Command has sent a strong message that it wants to delay the process of formation of Telangana, and KCR has thus decided to muster support of all like-minded leaders to the Telangana demand, they feel.

Besides, there are also signals that Chief Minister N Kirankumar Reddy will be replaced by a leader from Telangana, which they believe, will further delay the separate state formation. Perhaps KCR must have signals to this effect and that is one of the reasons why KCR is meeting seniors from the region, the analysts opine.

No doubt, KCR’s movements in the last two days are certainly disturbing leaders of different political parties in Telangana and Seemandhra as well.
