KCR gives land for 'Mission Bhagiratha' pipeline through farmhouse

Hyderabad: As part of government's prestigious water grid plan Mission Bhagiratha, Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who earlier said there should be no compromise on Right of Way for laying of pipes under Mission Bhagiratha, gave his consent for laying pipelines even through his farmhouse at Erravelli village in Medak district.

On Tuesday, officials took up Mission Bhagiratha works in Gajwel constituency of Medak district. In the process, officials had to lay pipeline through KCR’s farmhouse at Erravelli.

Officials informed the same to the CM and without altering the plan KCR gave his consent immediately. Rao mentioned that they can lay the pipeline through his farmhouse under the Right of Way Act and also clarified to the officials that there no one can be an exception to the rules.

The pipelines passed 300 metres through the farmhouse. To lay the line, the ginger crop in KCR’s farmhouse had to be removed in the area of nearly 350 sq. yards. The pipeline, intended to bring Godavari waters, is being laid from Shivaru Venkatapur to Varadarajupur.

KCR appealed to farmers and others to co-operate with the works of laying pipeline for Mission Bhagiratha project
