Tirupati: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who faced all brickbats by people of Andhra region during the Telangana statehood movement for 14 years, has now turned a hero in the same place. Huge hoardings have come up in Tirupati welcoming KCR on the eve of his scheduled visit to the temple town to fulfill his vows to Tirumala Venkateshwara Swamy as a thanksgiving for helping him achieve Telangana state.

KCR will present this Saligrama Haram to the deity in Tirumala

The CM is going present a gold Saligrama Haram worth Rs5.59 crore to the deity on February 22 to fulfil his vow to Lord Venkateswara Swamy at Tirumala. He will leave for Tirupati by a special flight on Tuesday on his second visit to AP after the state’s bifurcation.

KCR will stay for the night on Tuesday at Tirumala and he will present the gold Saligrama Haram during a special pooja. Later, he will visit Alivelu Mangapuram at Tirupati and present a gold nose-stud to Goddess Padmavati. Sources said KCR will then meet his old friend one Shankar Reddy in Tirupati and have lunch with him. He will return to Hyderabad in the evening.

Rao had vowed to present ornaments to various deities in both states if Telangana acheived statehood.
