KCR Directs Police To Punish Drug Peddlers, Not The “Victims”

KCR announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh to those who provide information on the drug consumers and peddlers in the state.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday said that there was no truth in the allegations that only Tollywood celebrities were targeted in the sensational case. The police would only punish the peddlers but not the "victims" in the case, he added.

KCR announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh to those who provide information on the drug consumers and peddlers in the state. He also announced suitable reward for information on gambling, ganja suppliers and even eve teasers.

The Chief Minister convened a meeting with senior officials of Excise and Prohibition department, the Hyderabad police and SIT at his Camp Office in Hyderabad where he directed the officials to ensure that the probe is carried out in a transparent manner and with utter commitment. Claiming that drugs consumption in Telangana is considerably low, the Chief Minister said the state government is aiming at completely reducing the usage of narcotics substance.

Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma, Director of Enforcement Akun Sabharwal and Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Mahender Reddy were among those present during the meeting.

Earlier, Puri Jagannath, Subbaraju, Tarun, Navdeep, Shyam K Naidu, Charmme Kaur, Mumaith Khan and Ravi Teja were quizzed by the SIT team.
