Former union minister Kavuri Sambasiva Rao praised Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on Friday.He added that Modi is a capable leader. “Modi proved his talent by developing Gujarat in industrial and agricultural fields,” said the leader.
He also took the opportunity to make derogatory comments against former party vice president, Rahul Gandhi. He said that Rahul is yet to influence the public.
Protesting against the bifurcation of the state, Kavuri resigned from both Congress party and his ministerial berth on Thursday.
After submitting his resignation, he made it clear that he would not contest from Congress party again in the coming elections. However, he said that he is yet to decide on joining other party.
After the Telangana bill was passed in the Parliament, most of the key leaders in Seemandhra region have left Congress to join other parties.
Kavuri initially tried to join Telugu Desam Party. But, some leaders in West Godavari district obstructed his entry into the party. Owing to the pressure from the local leaders, Chandrababu reportedly told Kavuri to choose another party.
