Kavuri, Seelam among 8 new faces in the Union Cabinet?

It seems luck is in favour of Eluru MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, who was elected to the Parliament for five times.

According to information reaching here, Kavuri is sworn in on Monday evening along with eight new faces in the Union Cabinet. Kavuri has been appointed as a permanent member of Congress Working Committee (CWC) as part of AICC restructuring. It is widely spread in Delhi that Kavuri may be given the portfolio of Textiles.  Another MP JD Seelam is also likely to be inducted in the Union Cabinet and the swearing in ceremony was to be held in the evening.

Eight new faces will be inducted in the Council of Ministers on Monday, with Sisram Ola and Oscar Fernandes making a re-entry after a gap of four years. Ola, along with Girija Vyas and Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, are to be inducted as Cabinet Ministers, sources said.

The Ministers of State to be inducted are Manikrao Gavit, Santosh Chowdhury, J D Seelam, E M S Natchiappan. Ola and Fernandes were ministers in the UPA-I but did not find a place in the UPA-II government. With the new inductions, the strength of the Council of Ministers will go up to 77. The expansion-cum-reshuffle of the Council of Ministers has been necessitated by the exit of Ministers from DMK as well as the resignation of Pawan Kumar Bansal, Ashwani Kumar, Ajay Maken and C P Joshi.
