Kannada Star Upendra Launches New Political Party, To Contest All Assembly Seats 

Sandalwood superstar Upendra, known for his maverick on-screen roles, has launched a new political party and titled it Karnataka Pragnyavantha Janatha Paksha.

Upendra had announced that he would join politics in the poll-bound Karnataka state. Initially, there were reports that he could join hands with the BJP. But, finally he has decided to be on his own. He said his party is a platform for the people.

"Those passionate about the cause can join me. It has always been my dream to make a change,” Upendra said. He further said that his party would not bother about the personalities, but would focus on creating a better society.

He said his party would focus on issues like health insurance, education, provision of quality infrastructure, agricultural development and small scale industries.

Upendra said the party website and the app would be launched on November 10. He further announced that his party would contest all the assembly constituencies in the state, which will go to polls in 2018. He said his party would strive to bring in more transparency and win the confidence of the rural masses.
