Kabali beats all records as it rakes in Rs 250 crore in India

Kabali collections on first day were Rs 100 crore from Tamil Nadu and Rs 150 crore from other states in India. 

Chennai: The latest movie Kabali has proved Rajinikanth as the undisputed ‘Thalaivar’ at the box office. Superstar Rajinikanth-starrer gangster drama movie Kabali has collected a record Rs 250 crore on its first day of screening. Kalaipuli S Thanu produced the movie. In a statement, he said: “It is the best collection an Indian actor has ever had. It shows that there is only one superstar and that is Rajinikanth.”

Kabali was released worldwide on Friday amid much fan frenzy. According to the statement from producer, the film in India has earned Rs 250 crore including Rs 100 crore from Tamil Nadu and Rs 150 crore from other states in India. The movie has been released in over 2,000 screens in South India.

Kabali was released in approximately 8,000-10,000 screens all over the world including 480 screens in the US, 490 in Malaysia and above 500 in Gulf countries.

It has earned approximately Rs 100 crore worldwide, said producers in the statement. Pa Ranjith directed Kabali. Other stars include Radhika Apte, Dhanshika and Kalaiarasan in key roles.
