Juveniles in a habit stealing to eat biryanis, arrested

Hyderabad: Two boys who have a penchant for eating biryanis everyday, by committing petty thefts to fulfill their desire, were arrested by the city police on Tuesday.

According to police, the duo belonging to Asif Nagar, a boy of seventeen and another who is studying class 10, in a school in Asif Nagar are in a habit of eating biryani everyday. As soon as they ran out of money to buy biryani the duo would steal mobile phones from passersby on the roads.

The biryani boys had recently knocked off two mobile phones and a bike in the limits of the Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills. The crime branch police registered a complaint from the victims and started surveillance on the duo and finally arrested them three days ago.

In the inquiry the duo revealed their habit of visiting a hotel located in middle of the Asif nagar everyday, to eat biryani along with soft drinks. They confessed that they resorted to stealing to satisfy this desire of theirs. The police shifted the duo to a Juvenile home, and the case is being investigated.
