Jolt to KCR: TRS MLAs in touch with Congress?

Anything can happen in politics. If reports are to be believed TRS chief KCR might suffer a blow. Till now, KCR was happy that he had the support of all the parties to realise his dream of Telangana state. His assumption was that while pro-Telangana activists from every party would fight for Telangana, in the end he could take the credit for the same and also rule the state. However, his calculations have backfired.

As Telangana movement nears an end and with Congress hinting at a favourable decision, KCR expected that many leaders from other parties will join the party. Contrary to his belief, his dreams are being shattered. According to reliable sources, three MLAs from TRS party are closely in touch with the Congress.

They have a few reasons to switch loyalties—

  • KCR may not give them tickets
  • KCR also failed to instil confidence in party leaders
  • Many MLAs feel that their future will not be good if Congress declared Telangana a separate state.
  • Congress is also not giving KCR much mileage

Sources also say that three leaders in the TRS are waiting for the CWC meeting. If they receive a decision favorable to Telangana, they will join Congress party. Of the three leaders, one is reportedly a senior leader. The names doing the rounds is the leaders who helped Congress during 2007 MLC elections.

Sources say, KCR too is keeping a close watch on the developments. Will KCR enjoy his much-awaited moment or will he face a googly? Let's wait and watch.
