Job Scam: 100 People Duped By Canada Jobs Consultancy
Hyderabad: A cheating case was registered against one Shashidhar Reddy on Wednesday for duping nearly 100 people to the tune of Rs1 crore by promising them jobs in Canada.
The accused opened Sunrise Consultants at Zech Colony in Sanathnagar and lured youths with IT jobs in Canada with handsome pay packages. Reddy collected passport copies and other documents to establish his credibility. He collected Rs1.5 lakh from each applicant in the name of expenses. However, the applicants grew suspicious as Shashidhar started evading them and in turn switched off his phone.
When some of them went to question him at his office, they found the consultancy closed. Sanathnagar SI K. Krishna said that nearly 50 youths lodged complaint against Shashidhar.
"We found the consultancy closed and learnt that he has absconded. We are trying to trace him by tracking his phone," he said.
