Hyderabad: A cook and three others were arrested on Monday for stealing Rs65 lakh worth valuables from a jeweller's home in Punjagutta.

The main accused identified as Umesh(23) had joined as a cook at jeweller Jitendar Kumar Gupta's house at Naveen Nagar, Punjagutta some time back. He was residing at the servant's quarter in the house premises along with housekeeper Ramprasad. On July 1, Jitendar's family went to attend a relative's wedding at Shamshabad and they took house keeper Ramprasad along to the marriage.

As there was no one in the house, the accused asked his friends Hare Ram, Upender Mukiya and Rajendar Mukiya to come. The four burglars sneaked into the house and stole all the jewellery and cash and ran away. When Jitendar returned home, he realized the theft and the cook was missing. The police on investigation tracked their mobile phones and traced them at the Vishakapatnam railway station.

They arrested the burglars and recovered the stolen things.
