Jehanabad Molestation Video Viral: Minor Girl Disrobed in Full Public View

Patna: In a shocking incident, a video clip of a minor girl being molested by a group of eight men has gone viral. What is more shameful about the unfortunate incident is that, instead of freeing the helpless young girl from the clutches of the mob, onlookers shot a video and uploaded it online.

It is yet to be known where the incident took place, but the police officials have identified a bike in the video which shows the registration of Jehanabad in Bihar. The Jehanadabad molestation video that has gone viral shows minor girl being disrobed by a gang of unknown people as she cries out for help, which seems to have fallen on deaf ears. As per reports, two people have been detained and a hunt has been launched to nab the others.

The video went viral since Saturday night but was later removed by the state cybercrime branch.

“An FIR has been lodged under Sections 376 (rape) and 511 (punishment for offences punishable with life or other imprisonments) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 8 (sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012,” said Jehanabad SP Maneesh.

The incident comes close on the heels of the rape incidents in Kathua and Unnao that have created a huge uproar across the nation. Celebrities like Javed Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar and Nimrat Kaur and have called it a gut wrenching, horrendous and disgusting act, and demanded justice.

Bihar Police Arrest Four Persons

In a latest development, Four persons in Bihar's Jehanabad district have been arrested in connection with the molestation of a minor girl, the video of which went viral on social sites, police said on Monday.

The video, captured by a local, shows the girl being hounded and molested by a group of youths in broad daylight. The incident took place on Saturday, the police said.
Jehanabad's Superintendent of Police Manish Kumar said a special investigation team (SIT) arrested four of the accused. "Others have been identified and a hunt is on to arrest them," he said.

The SIT also siezed a motorbike seen in the video.
According to police official Shayam Sundae Singh, an FIR was lodged against seven people involved in the case.
