Jagan slams AP govt’s neglect of SCs, STs

YSRCP chief YS Jagan made a scathing attack on the TDP government in Andhra Pradesh for ignoring the interests of the SCs and STs.

Taking part in the discussion in the AP assembly on allocations to the SCs and STs, YS Jagan said whole Rs 1500 crore were allocated in the last budget for the tribal welfare, only Rs 1040 crore were spent. The planned expenditure, which ranged between 34 to 35 per cent, has come down to 23 per cent in this budget, he said.

YS Jagan quoted facts and figures to support his argument and added that the allocations to the SCs were cut by Rs 805 crore. Similarly, BCs were promised Rs 361 criore, but what they actually got was a mere Rs 2 crore. He also accused the ruling party of cutting down on the allocations to the minorities and the BCs.
