Sharmila, who completed her 230-day 'Maro Praja Prastanam' padayatra successfully met her brother and YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Chanchalguda jail.

Sharmila, accompanied by YSRCP honorary president YS Vijayamma, Jagan's wife YS Bharathi and brother Anil went straight to meet Jagan after landing at the Shamshabad airport in Hyderabad on Monday morning.

After meeting Jagan, Sharmila said: "Jagan Mohan Reddy is very happy with the way the Padayatra has gone. He appreciated us. And we thank god and all the people who have blessed, co-operated and extended their unfailing love."

It is a known fact that Sharmila undertook the padayatra to honour the promise she made to her brother Jagan. The YSRCP party leaders said that Sharmila shared her padayatra experiences with Jagan. The YSRCP leader told Jagan about the problems being faced by the people of Andhra Pradesh on a day-today basis of which she learnt in the course of her walkathon.

It is understood that the duo discussed about the current political developments in the state. This is the second time Sharmila is meeting Jagan after starting her padayatra. She met Jagan a few months back when she suffered a knee injury. Scores of YSRCP supporters waited in the proximity of the jail to congratulate Sharmila on her accomplished mission.

There was a huge procession from Shamshabad airport to Chanchalguda jail to welcome the YSRCP leader. As many as 150 vehicles followed her car.
