Jagan for defeating T bill in Assembly, before Cabinet note

Defeating Telangana bill in Assembly with a resolution may be deprived of its relevance, once it is gone through the earlier procedural hierarchy, YSR Congress Party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy opined.

Speaking to the press persons at his Lotus Pond office on Monday after meeting the Governor ESL Narasimhan, Jagan said if the Cabinet note is prepared and the President gives his consent, what would be the significance of defeating the Telangana bill in the State Assembly. For this, he demanded the Governor to convene a special Assembly session immediately. (Read Full Letter)
If the formal procedure is exercised, the resolution of State Assembly would be a later step after a few antecedents, including preparation of Cabinet note, he said.
“Usually, after Cabinet note, it would be sent for the recommendations of Group of Ministers. The reorganisation of draft bill would be sent again for Cabinet’s approval. If it comes for the State Assembly’s resolution, the opinion of State Assembly may become irrelevant and would be of late. So, I demand for the immediate convening of State Legislative Assembly to voice the aspirations of the people opposing the State division,” he further said.
He reiterated his preparedness to sign first, if Samaikyandhra JAC writes a letter to the Centre opposing bifurcation of the State.

He rebutted the allegations of TDP leaders on colluding with Congress. “Who colluded with whom? Remember few recent developments as an example. There is no investigation into the scams of Chandrababu like IMG, EMMAR.  He supported the FDI in Parliament with his party MPs abstaining from voting. Recently, he  cooperated with Congress in MLC elections. Chandrababu issued a whip and saved the Congress government during no-trust motion. We have been fighting against Congress and we have not supported FDI and opposed state bifurcation. Now tell me who is colluding with whom?” asked Jagan. (Read More)
Ridiculing the allegations that he had taken U-turn on Telangana, Jagan asked his opponents to check the letters sent to the President and the union home minister. The YSRCP chief also said that Congress is dividing the state for votes and seats while Telugu Desam Party (TDP) is keeping quiet for fear of losing votes and seats.
”When we say we want Samaikyandhra, it means we need Rayalaseema, Coastal Andhra and Telangana. All regions are important to us,” he said, adding that only three parties committed to Samaikyandhra namely YSRCP, MIM and CPI (M).
" Centre should realise the injustice being meted out to people of Seemandhra. I can say with confidence that our party will take forward the development in Telangana," he asserted.
“AP would get water only after the needs of Maharashtra are met and the water levels at Alamatti and Narayanpur dams in Karnataka reach to the brim. The State’s plea, a lower riparian state, for more allocations would only be a plea in wilderness. In this scenario, if a new state was to be carved without changing boundaries, how would Nagarjuna Sagar and Srisailam get water from?” he questioned.
Even the Polavaram project, even it has been conferred with national status would meet the same fate as only 13 per cent of Godavari water flows into the project from Sabari in Khammam district, he further said.
Being firm on his ideological antagonism with Narendra Modi, Jagan, on the other hand, appreciated the Gujarat Chief Minister’s administrative skills. Jagan affirmed that he, unlike ‘oscillating’ Chandrababu Naidu, is uncompromising on secularism. He called upon Modi to be secular by spirit and not to politicise the religion.

Jagan to hold public meeting in Hyderabad

Taking the Samaikyandhra spirit to Hyderabad, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday announced that he would conduct a massive public meeting in the state capital between October 15 to 20.
Addressing a press conference, YS Jagan said that he decided to conduct a 'Samaikya Shankaravaram' meeting in Hyderabad, as he is confined to Hyderabad by court.
“I request everyone to attend this meeting” he said.

Court permits Jagan to visit Idupulapaya

The CBI Special Court at Nampally on Monday permitted YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's petition to visit Idupulapaya.
The court took this decision after hearing the arguments and counter arguments from the both sides.  In the counter petition, the CBI argued not to relax the bail conditions as the witnesses in the Jagan's case, are out of Hyderabad.
Objecting the Jagan's request, the CBI counsel apprehended the possible tampering of evidence by Jagan while influencing the witnesses, if he is granted permission. The CBI also told the court the accused in the Jagan's case are still in jail and their bail pleas are pending before the court.
It may be recalled that Jagan sought court's permission to visit Idupulapaya on October 1 and 2, besides Guntur on October 4.
Arguing on behalf of Jagan, lawyer Sushil Kumar said that Jagan's case is only technical and there is no scope for tampering the evidence as all of them are documented.
He requested the court to grant permission saying Jagan is to pay tributes to his father at Idupulapaya, the resting place of Dr YSR.
