Jagan continues hunger strike in hospital

In a midnight crackdown, police forcibly shifted fasting YSR Congress Party  president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to a government hospital after his health condition deteriorated.

Jagan was bodily lifted by police despite resistance by YSRCP activists.  Jagan was fasting in protest against the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. His fast entered sixth day on Thursday.
Just after midnight, a heavy posse of police personnel surrounded the venue of the fasting camp and shifted Jagan to the hospital. He was rushed to NIMS hospital for treatment.
There was mild tension as the YSRCP leaders resisted the police bid to forcibly take away their party's president.
Police action came after a team of doctors from Osmania General Hospital carried out medical tests on YS Jagan whose sugar and blood levels had fallen drastically.

Police have tightened security around the NIMS hospital where he is admitted, and not allowing anybody inside, except other patients.

The condition of Jagan is said to be critical as he hasn't eaten anything for the past five days. Doctors advised immediate medical care for Jagan. They warned that his condition may further deteriorate if he continued his fast. But Jagan was bent upon continuing his fast.
