Jagan asks for convening of Assembly

A delegation of YSRCP leaders, led by YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, met Governor ESL Narasimhan to apprise him of the party stand and the need to convene the Assembly.

He demanded for  the resolution in Assembly  to keep the State united. He also supposed that the move may bring the stance of other political parties on this burning issue. Jagan is likely to address a press conference after he comes out of Raj Bhavan.

Read Letter:
"Your Excellency may recall that our legislature party members met you on 21st Sept to apprise you of the prevailing situation in the state. The Government’s in the State and Centre seem completely unconcerned about the ongoing agitation for the past 60 days by almost all the sections of population in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, against the arbitrary and unilateral decision of the Congress Working Committee and of UPA allies to divide the state of Andhra Pradesh.

It is shocking to note despite such overwhelming demand from majority of state’s population and from political parties like our party (YSRCP), MIM and CPM, it appears that the Cabinet note proposing to create Telangana state is under preparation. In the light of the above, we request you to convene immediately the state assembly session to discuss and pass a resolution to keep the state united, before the cabinet note is prepared, so as to show case the opposition to split the state to the entire country there by mounting pressure to reconsider this anti people stand to split the state."
