YSR Congress Party leader Sharmila's 'Maro Praja Prasthanam' padayatra to protest against the government's anti-people policies and TDP's conspiracy, reached the 2500-km milestone at Kakarapalli in East Godavari district on Sunday evening.
YSRCP honorary president YS Vijayamma who was present at the meeting to congratulate Sharmila on reaching a huge milestone in her mission explained how YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was sent to prison with the unholy nexus between the Congress and the main Opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and how they are preventing his release from jail.
A thunderous round of applause greeted Sharmila when she introduced herself in her trademark style, as "the daughter of your Rajanna and sister of your Jagannna.”
Addressing a huge public gathering at Kakarapalli on the occasion of completing 2500 kms, Sharmila explained the stark contrast between the YSR regime and that of Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu. She reminded people how Chandrababu had back-stabbed his father-in-law NTR then and now doing the same to people of the state. Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy waived off crores of loan amount during his regime. However, now Chandrababu is saying he would also do that. YSR implemented free reimbursement for poor students and now, Chandrababu says he too will implement the same policy. She asked why had he failed to do the same when he was head of state.
She did not spare Chiranjeevi too. The YSRCP leader said the mega star had sold his party to Congress for the love of power.
She recalled that YSR had made relentless efforts for the upliftment of the dalit, the poor and the downtrodden of the society. Stating that Kiran government was imposing excessive burden on the people by increasing all types of charges, Sharmila recalled how YSR had set a record in history without hiking any charges.
Kiran Reddy is good at two things- One increasing all the charges including gas, Munciple, Vat and power. The second one is dumping all the schemes of YSR. Public is not expecting anything new from Kiran Reddy, they merely want him to implement YSR schemes properly, she said.
She unveiled a 24ft statue of her father YSR at Kakarapalli.
Sharmila assured everyone that Jagan will soon get out of the jail and bring back Rajanna's golden rule. He will give a new lease of life to all the welfare schemes implemented by late YSR that will hugely benefit the poor, she added. As Sharmila addressed the massive gathering, the crowd welcomed her with loud cheers.
